Privacy Policy

Who we are

Nitora IPTV (“the app”; called iTerala until version 1.3.0) is a media player for LG webOS TVs. It ships with no channels, movies, or other content of its own. To watch anything, you enter the login details of your own third-party IPTV service (an Xtream Codes account or an M3U playlist URL). The app has no user accounts and no server that stores your data.

Developer / contact: Prashanth, support@nitoraiptv.com.

What data the app handles, and where it goes

1. Your IPTV provider credentials

(server URL, username, password, or M3U URL) are stored only on your TV, in the app’s local storage, and are sent only to the IPTV server you entered — to fetch your channel list, guide, and streams. They are never transmitted anywhere else, and no copy is kept off your device.

2. Your app settings and browsing state

(active profile, sort/view choices, recent searches, subtitle preferences, Continue Watching progress, favourites, the parental-control PIN) are stored only on your TV, in local storage. They are not transmitted.

3. Subtitle search (optional)

Only if you enable it and add your own OpenSubtitles API key: when you request subtitles, the app queries OpenSubtitles.com. Because that service does not permit direct browser requests, these requests are relayed through a proxy the developer runs on Cloudflare (a Cloudflare Worker), used solely to forward the request. The relayed request includes the title of the video you are watching and the OpenSubtitles API key / login you configured. The proxy forwards the request and response only; it is not used to build a profile of you. If the proxy is unavailable, subtitle search simply fails and playback is unaffected. OpenSubtitles’ own handling is governed by their privacy policy.

4. Title details from TMDB (on by default)

When you open a movie’s or series’ page, for titles on Home, and for titles in a list whose poster from your provider is missing or won’t load, the app looks up cast & crew photos, age ratings, a trailer, the title’s logo and missing artwork from TMDB (themoviedb.org). It asks by the title’s TMDB id when your IPTV provider supplies one, or else by its title and year (and, for some titles, the language their category names), through a proxy the developer runs on Cloudflare (a Cloudflare Worker). The request contains only that, plus a key that identifies the app itself (the same on every TV) — no account, provider login or viewing history. The proxy keeps each answer for up to 7 days and may reuse it for other users of the app. To stop abuse it counts lookups per TV IP address for one minute, in memory only; the developer does not store or log it. Cloudflare’s own handling is governed by its privacy policy.

Titles in adult categories are never looked up. Photos and artwork load directly from TMDB’s image server (image.tmdb.org), which sees your TV’s IP address like any website would. Choosing Trailer opens the video in your TV’s YouTube app, under YouTube’s own terms and privacy policy.

Turn off Settings → Appearance → Details from TMDB to stop these lookups (what was already fetched is cleared from the TV); pages then show only what your provider sends. TMDB’s own handling is governed by their privacy policy.

What the app does NOT do

Your control

Content responsibility

Nitora IPTV does not provide, host, or verify any content. All channels and media come from the third-party service whose credentials you supply. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to access that content.

Children

The app is a general-purpose media player and is not directed at children. Content available depends entirely on the third-party service you connect.

Changes

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date reflects the latest revision.
